At the public meeting on August 10, all comments and questions were recorded. A written response was prepared and mailed to the interested parties list prior to the design workshop. A summary of the public meeting and design workshop, staff report and common ground identified are included under separate cover as attachments B, C, and D. The City received substantial public input on a wide variety of issues including designation of certain streets as neighborhood collectors, the cost of improvements and who pays, improvement and maintenance of streets and safety. The neighborhood also conducted and submitted its own traffic study. While the public input was important and provided for a better understanding of the neighborhoods issues and concerns, only the neighborhood traffic study provided information specific to the criteria used in the Street Classification Matrix. City staff evaluated the neighborhood traffic study and determined that the study results did not change the outcome of the Street Classification Matrix. COUNCIL OPTIONS A City Council decision on this item is scheduled for November 8, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION None; this is a public hearing only.
