<br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Work Session <br />Council Chamber <br />777 Pearl Street - Eugene, Oregon <br /> <br /> September 24, 2007 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Andrea Ortiz (by telephone), Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor, Bonny Bettman, <br />Jennifer Solomon, George Poling, Mike Clark, Alan Zelenka. <br /> <br /> <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. <br /> <br />A. COMMITTEE REPORTS AND ITEMS OF INTEREST FROM MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL <br />AND CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy announced that her one-on-one meeting would be held in Mr. Pryor's ward on September 27 at <br />Big Town Hero. She said that the 25th anniversary celebration of the Hult Center would occur on <br />September 28, 2007. <br /> <br />Mr. Pryor reported that the West Eugene Collaborative had a workshop scheduled in October and he would <br />provide the council with information following that event. He had met with concerned parents in the <br />Churchill High School area to discuss traffic concerns on Bailey Hill Road. He said those efforts were <br />being coordinated with Churchill Neighbors and thanked staff from Public Works and the Eugene Police <br />Department for meeting with those groups. He was encouraged that a long-term, effective solution would be <br />reached. <br /> <br />Mr. Zelenka noted the lack of applicants for the Planning Commission and the Budget Committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Zelenka, seconded by Ms. Bettman, moved to go forward with the appoints to <br />the Human Rights Commission, Sustainability Commission and Toxics Board as <br />scheduled, but to delay and reopen the appointments for the Planning Commission <br />and Budget Committee until after the selection of the Human Rights Commission, <br />Sustainability Commission and Toxics Board members. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES—Eugene City Council September 24, 2007 Page 1 <br /> Work Session <br /> <br />
