The upcoming micro-enterprise classes provide entrepreneurs the resources <br />they need to develop a business, create sustainable incomes, and lay the foundation for future job creation. The focus of <br />the classes will be to help micro-entrepreneurs start, stabilize or grow an existing micro-enterprise. The course is <br />comprised of four, two-hour classes, coupled with unlimited access to one-on-one business coaching. The course will be <br />free of charge to Eugene residents of low to moderate income. <br /> <br />The first session of classes will be held on Tuesdays, Apr. 5 through 26, and a second session will be held on Thursdays, <br />Jun. 2 through 23. Participants can register through NEDCO online at www.nedcocdc.org or by phone at 541-345-7106. <br /> <br />Classes will cover topics such as: <br /> <br />Business Concept and Plan Development <br /> <br /> <br />Competitive Analysis <br /> <br /> <br />Marketing Strategy and Branding Identity <br /> <br /> <br />Understanding Financial Statements <br /> <br /> <br />Business Tax Considerations <br /> <br /> <br />Legal Entity Types and Legal Considerations <br /> <br /> <br />Micro-enterprises can help community members become more economically self-sufficient or earn extra income to <br />supplement household income. These small businesses promote the unique character of the community, help diversify <br />the local workforce, and contribute to the local economy through job creation. <br /> <br />City of Eugene business programs provide financing opportunities to underserved segments of Eugene’s business <br />community. Programs include the Business Development Fund, Downtown Revitalization Loan Program, and Arts & <br />Business Loans.
