Metro TV staff review and accept films which <br />are family friendly and feature length. <br /> <br />The opportunity for the community to view recent juried films that may <br />never have been broadcast in this area before, provides a rare <br />community TV occasion to showcase indie films currently on the <br />festival circuit. Films will be loaned for a month after each festival has <br />concluded, with no limitation on the number of times that Channel 21 <br />can air the films. The titles and schedules of these films will be <br />announced on Channel 21. <br /> <br />One contributor is the non-profit DisOrient Asian American Film <br /> <br />Festival of Oregon,sited in Eugene, celebrating their 11 year. Films <br />th <br />will be screened at Bijou Art Cinemas on 13 Avenue and Broadway <br />th <br />Metro downtown during the festival weekend, Apr. 29 – May 1. The DisOrient Film Festival is an Asian Celebration <br />partner event which promotes the talent of Asian filmmakers and portrays important Asian themes using film as the <br />medium. The festival was established by Jason Mak, a former City employee now working at the State of Oregon. For <br /> <br />more on this event, visit www.disorientfilm.org. <br /> <br />The other contributor is the non-profit Archeology International Film Festival, also sited in <br />Eugene, which is the longest-running film festival in the area. This festival runs May 12 - 15. <br />For more information, visit https://archaeologychannel.org. <br /> <br />Metro TV Channel 21 operates within the Comcast areas of Eugene, Springfield and Lane <br />County. Community TV channels are an effective means of reaching cable audiences on a <br />wide range of issues. The channels are provided through a contract with Comcast TV for their <br />long-term use of the public rights-of-way, managed by the City’s Telecommunications <br />Program.
