On April 15, 2008, the EWEB Board of Commissioners selected five individuals. The <br />purpose of the work session is for City Council to select the remaining four members of the nine- <br />member Community Advisory Team. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />At a work session on June 11, 2008, city councilors requested additional time to consider the <br />applicant pool. Councilors agreed to submit four names to City staff by Friday, June 13, 2008. <br />Staff will compile all the names received with the respective number of votes and present this <br />information to council by the end of the day on Friday, June 13, 2008. <br /> <br />Additional Background Information <br />On December 17, 2007, following direction by the City Council and the EWEB Board of <br />Commissioners, City Manager pro tem Angel Jones and EWEB General Manager Randy <br />Berggren signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the steps leading to the <br />disposition and redevelopment of the EWEB riverfront property. The MOU directed the EWEB <br />Board and City Council to appoint a Community Advisory Team (CAT) to guide the master <br />planning process. Specifically, the EWEB Board was to select five members and the Eugene <br />City Council was to select four members of the CAT to work with a qualified <br />consultant/facilitator to create a master plan for the EWEB riverfront property. <br /> <br />The application period for the CAT was open between Wednesday, February 20, 2008, and <br />Friday, March 28, 2008. A total of 47 applications were received; subsequently, one individual <br />removed his application due to a conflict of interest. In the final pool, there were 37 male and <br />nine female applicants, located throughout the community. Based on zip code locations, 97405 <br />had the most applicants with 17; followed by 97401 with 10; 97403 with 9; 97408 with 5; 97402 <br />with 3; 97404 with 1 and 97489 (Leaburg) with 1. <br /> <br />On April 15, 2008, the EWEB Board of Commissioners selected five individuals: Dave Hauser, <br />Dean Pape, Tom Hoyt, Gary Wildish, and Desiree Moore. EWEB commissioners have indicated <br />that they also intend to select an alternate CAT member, in the event that one of the individuals <br />initially selected is required to withdraw from the master planning process for any reason. <br /> Z:\CMO\2008 Council Agendas\M080616\S0806161.doc <br /> <br />
