The code amendments would establish a /WQ Water Quality Overlay Zone which will protect <br />the physical integrity and water quality function within and adjacent to otherwise unprotected <br />waterways. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />City Council Process <br />On May 14, 2008, in advance of a public hearing on the proposal, the City Council held a work session <br />at which staff provided an overview of the proposed ordinance, map, affected properties, and <br />summarized the public process and the Planning Commission’s recommendation to the City Council. <br />The City Council held a public hearing on May 19 at which three people testified. In addition, 23 pieces <br />of public testimony were received through the public hearing proceedings.
