<br />IMPROVEI~IENT ORDINANCE N0. 8658
<br />A,n Ordinance providing for the construction of a sewer, as follows:
<br />Beginning at the main city Sewer at the intersection of
<br />24th Avenue East and Chula Vista Street, and running
<br />thence East to a point approximately 20 feet East of the
<br />Wiest line of Lot ~1, Block 27, Chula Vista Park 2nd
<br />Addition, being a 6 inch main; and also three 4 inch laterals
<br />serving the properties herein described located in Lots
<br />1, 2, and 3, Block 27, Chula Vista Park 2nd Addition,
<br />all in the City of Eugene, Oregon;
<br />and declaring an emergency.
<br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLL04VS:
<br />Section 1. The Common Council of the City of Eugene does hereby declare
<br />its intention to build and construct a sewer as follows:
<br />Beginning at the main City Seder at the intersection of
<br />24th Avenue East and Chula Vista Streets, and running
<br />thence East to a point approximately 20 feet East of the
<br />Viest line of Lot 1, Block 27, Chula Vista Park 2nd
<br />Addition, being a 6 inch main; and also three 4 inch laterals
<br />serving the properties herein described located in Lots
<br />1, 2, and 3, Block 27, Chula Vista Park 2nd Addition,
<br />all in the City of Eugene, Oregon.
<br />Section 2. The said sewer shall be constructed of first class,
<br />six inch concrete pipe, and the laterals of four inch concrete pipe, according
<br />to the plans and specifications of the City Engineer.
<br />Sectior}~3. The City Engineer is hereby directed to survey out the
<br />location of said sewer, and prepare plans and specifications and a profile thereof,
<br />and file the same with the City Recorder.
<br />Section 4. The construction of said sewer shall include alI necessary
<br />manholes, wyes and all things necessary and convenient for the complete construatio~
<br />thereof.
<br />Section 5. The whole cost of the construction of said sewer shall be
<br />borne by and assessed to the lots, parts of lots and acreage property liable there
<br />for and benefitted by the construction thereof in propoxrtion to the benefits
<br />accruing to each lot, part of lot or acreage property, and the Council does hereby
<br />ascertain and determine that the following described property is benefitted by the
<br />construction of said sewer and is liable for the cost thereof to the amount to each
<br />as shall subsequently be ascertained, to-wit:
<br />Investors Syndicate
<br />The east 48.5 feet of Lot 1, Block 27, Second Addition
<br />to Chula Vista Park Addition.
<br />Sun Life Assurance Company
<br />Beginning at a point 33.4 feet East of the Southwest
<br />corner of Lot 2, Block 27, Second Addition,_to Chula
<br />Vista Park, thence East 48.5 feet, thence forth 169.3
<br />feet; thence 6`~est 48.5 Peet, thence South 169.3 feet
<br />to the place of beginning, all in Eugene, Lane County,
<br />Oregon.
<br />Frank Semon:
<br />Beginning at a point 50.1 feet East of the Southwest
<br />corner of Lot 3, Block 27, Second Addition to Chula
<br />Vista Park, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, running
<br />`thence East along the Borth line of James Street,
<br />48.5 feet, thence North 169 feet, thence Vliest 48.5
<br />feet, thence South 169 feet to the place of beginning.
<br />Section 6. Upon the completion of the sewer the Common Council shall
<br />ascertain the cost thereof and assess that portion thereof Q ainst the lots,
<br />parts of lots or acreage property liable therefor or benefi:t~ed thereby in
<br />accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Eugene, and when said
<br />costs are so assessed, the same shall be entered in the City lien docket and be
<br />further enforced as provided by the City Charter.
<br />Section 7. The City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to give ten
<br />days notice to the property owners by posting in three public places in said city
