2~4 <br />OP.DINA_NCE 8774 <br />An ordinance to amend Section 22 of Ordinance No. 8761 of the City of Eugene, <br />entitled:"An Ordinance regulating the parking of vehicles (including bicycles) <br />i <br />upon the streets of the City of Eugene, including parking meter regulations, and <br />prescribing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances or <br />~ parts of ordinances insofar as they,are in conflict herewith, and declaring an <br />I <br />emergency," passed by the Com~.:on Council ~~'ebruary 22, 1943 and approved by the <br />ib:ayor February 23, 1943. <br />THE CITY OF EUGEIV'E DOES OF~.DAIN AS FOLLO~~VS: <br />Section 1. That Section 22 of Ordinance IvTo. 8761 entitled, "An Ordinance <br />' regulating the parking of vehicles (including bicycles) upon the streets of the <br />City of Eugene, including parking meter regulations, and prescribing penalties <br />1 for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances <br />insofar as they are in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency," passed by <br />~ the Common Council February 22, 1943 and approved by the ~~ayor February 23, 1943 <br />be•and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: ` <br />"Section 22. All cars parked v;ithin the City of Eugene shall <br />comply with the state law with reference to the hours and method of <br />lighting provided by the state lave! except that where a vehicle srlall <br />be parked in accordance with tYie city ordinance of the city or upon <br />the street where there is sufficient light to reveal any persons <br />within a distance of five hundred (500) feet upon such street or <br />highway, no lights need be displayed upon such vehicle." <br />i Section 2. ';WHEREAS the present ordinance does not comply with the State. law <br />sand violations are coincidentally occurring in the matter of larking under the <br />above section, an emergency is therefore declared to exist and it is declared to <br />be necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of <br />Eugene that this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage by the <br />Common Council and its approval by the Mayor and it is so ordered. <br />Passed by the Common Council <br />this 26th day of July, A.
