2`~2 <br />_~ <br />- Section 3. The City Recorder shall provide such poll books, ballot ~ <br />boxes, tally sheets, and such other supplies for each percinct as are neee- <br />i <br />i <br />i <br />i <br />:;:-~ <br />i <br />r <br />i <br />ssary for the carrying on of the election, which shall be delivered to the <br />election board. <br />Section 4. The Common Council hereby orders that said election shall <br />be held concurrently with the State General Primary election, and hereby des- <br />ignates as the polling places for said election in the City of Eugene, the <br />polling places established and designated for the State General Nominating <br />election., and the Common Council does hereby appoints the 3udges and clerks <br />appointed to serve at said general election, to serve in each of said polling <br />places for the City Election. <br />Section 5. The pools shall be opened in each of said voting precincts <br />at eight o'clock A.M, and shall be kept open until eight o'clock P. M. on said <br />election day. <br />Section 6. The Judge acting as Chairman of the election Board in the <br />general state election, shall be chairman of the same Board of which he is a <br />member in the City election and the ballots shall be counted, tabulated, and <br />returned to the City Recorder as provided by law. <br />Section 7. VOhereas, .the City of Eugene in pursuance of the war effort, <br />as proposed certain measures in contemplation of aid for such effort, and is <br />necessary that provision shall be made for funds to carry out plans which are <br />urgently needed. <br />It is therefore declared that an emergency exists, and that it is <br />i <br />t <br />i <br />i - <br />hereby declared to be nec®ssary for the immediate preservation of the peace, <br />health and safety of the City of Eugene, that this ordinance shall take effect <br />immediately upon its passage by the Common Council and approval by the l~yor.. <br />Passed by the Common Council <br />this 10th day of April 1944. <br />ls/ John Fields <br />-- City Recorder pro tem <br />Approved by the ~6ayor this <br />12th +day of April 1944. <br />.Ls/ Elisha Lame <br />Mayor <br />
