<br />RESOLUTION NO. 4608 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISED DESIGN <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR EUGENE STREETS, <br />SIDEWALKS, BIKEWAYS AND ACCESS WAYS, AND <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 4500. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br /> <br />A. On July 29, 1996, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 4500 amending and <br />readopting the June, 1993 Design Standards for Eugene Streets, Sidewalks, Bikeways and Access <br />Ways. <br /> <br />B. As part of the Eugene Arterial and Collector Street Plan, the Eugene Planning <br />Commission has recommended new design standards for arterial and collector streets. The entire <br />design standards document has been reformatted and a street lighting design standard has also been <br />added for both local streets and arterial and collector streets. Those standards are set forth in Exhibit <br />A hereto and are also contained within the Eugene Arterial and Collector Street Plan. <br /> <br />C. The revised Design Standards and Guidelines for Eugene Streets, Sidewalks, <br />Bikeways and Access Ways attached as Exhibit A hereto as approved and recommended by the <br />Eugene Planning Commission, should be adopted, Resolution No. 4500 and the Design Standards <br />adopted therein should be repealed, and the design standards for local streets amended, all as set <br />forth in the attached Exhibit A. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, a <br />Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. Resolution No. 4500, and the June, 1993 Design Standards for Eugene Streets, <br />Sidewalks, Bikeways, and Access Ways adopted therein is hereby repealed, as of the effective date <br />of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2. The revised Design Standards and Guidelines for Eugene Streets, Sidewalks, <br />Bikeways and Access Ways attached as Exhibit A hereto are hereby adopted, as of the effective date <br />of this Resolution, as the City's mandatory design standards and its advisory guidelines for arterial, <br />collector and local streets. The guidelines in Exhibit A for implementation of those design standards <br />are advisory only, and have no legal or binding effect. These Design Standards and Guidelines are <br />also set forth in the Eugene Arterial and Collector Street Plan, and portions are reflected in the <br />Eugene Local Street Plan. In the event any conflict exists with the Standards and Guidelines in <br />Exhibit A and the Standards and Guidelines in the Eugene Arterial and Collector Street Plan or the <br /> <br />Resolution - 1 <br />
