<br />RESOLUTION NO. 4664 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE RECEIPT OF THE WET WEATHER <br />FLOW MANAGEMENT PLAN FROM THE METROPOLITAN WASTEWATER <br />MANAGEMENT COMMISSION <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission has completed the Wet Weather <br />Flow Management Plan, and forwarded the plan to the Mayor and City Council. <br /> <br />The Wet Weather Flow Management Plan identifies policies, capital improvements, and <br />operations and maintenance activities that will reduce extraneous flows (infiltration and inflow) <br />in the regional and local wastewater systems in the Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area. <br /> <br />The City of Eugene acknowledges this partnership of regional and local wastewater <br />agencies in order to protect public health, property and the environment by minimizing <br />wastewater overflows and bypasses following extreme storm events. <br /> <br />The matter of reducing wastewater overflows in wastewater collection systems is a matter <br />of interest nationwide and the subject of proposed federal regulations. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Eugene, a Municipal Corporation of the <br />State of Oregon, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Council hereby acknowledges receipt of the Wet Weather Flow <br />Management Plan, dated September 2000, as transmitted by the Metropolitan Wastewater <br />Management Commission in a letter dated, February 16, 2001. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Council expresses great appreciation to the Metropolitan <br />Wastewater Management Commission and the Wet Weather Flow Management Plan Citizens <br />Advisory Committee for its work. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Council hereby reconfirms its commitment to a provide an ongoing <br />wastewater rehabilitation program through the Capital Improvement Plan and Capital Budgets. <br />
