<br />r-6 <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, <br />December 12, 1927. <br /> <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held at 7;30 <br />o'clock P.M. on December 12, 1927, there being present Mayor A.L. Williamson and <br />all members of the Council except Washburne and Monroe, who were absent. Meeting <br />called to order by the Mayor at 7;30 o'clock P.M. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />.;tt <br /> <br />Minutes of the meetings of Novl3mber 14th, November 18th, and November <br />28th, 1927, approved. <br /> <br />Committee reports were called for. <br />The City Attorney spoke for the Judiciary Committee as to the proposed Taxi <br />Ordinance regulating various phases of t.raffic on 13th Aven.ue East and otherwise <br />adjacent to the University, stating he has not had sufficient time since having <br />the matter presented and that he would have Ordinances prepared for the next <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Finance Committee. <br />The Finance Committee recommended the fo~Llowing estimates for Street improvements <br />be paid:- <br /> <br />To Eugene.Sand and (}ravel Co. for grad.ing and <br />graveling Lincoln Street from 22nd to 23rd <br /> <br />Avenue. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $679.51 <br /> <br />To Oscar Snow for paving the alley betiween <br />Charnelton and Lincoln Sts. from 20th to 21st <br /> <br />Avenue. . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $1069.49 <br /> <br />To W.W. Head Construction Co. for pavi.ng <br />Lawrence St. from 13th to 17th Avenue.......$12,23q.89 <br /> <br />To Stein Bros. for :paving University St. from <br />15th to 18th Avenue - partial-payment to be <br />made from the Intersection fund.............$5.073.21 <br /> <br />To Stien Bros. for paving University St. from <br />15th to 18th Avenue Avenue - Partial payment to be <br />made from the 3)istrict Improvement Fund.....$8,298.85 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />To Hargreaves & Lindsay for paving Bir'ch Lane <br />from Fairmount Boulevard to Maple St.......$3,382.67 <br /> <br />To Stien Bros. for :paving Monroe Street from <br />the Southern Pacific Right of way to ?'th Avenue. <br />$12,875.34 <br /> <br />On motion such recommendation was unanimously adopted by roll call. <br /> <br />Street Committee:- <br />The Street Committee reported on the petition to widen 11th Avenue and <br />recommended the matter be laid over for the present. On motion, such recommend- <br />ationwas adopted. <br /> <br />The Street Committee reported the County has estimated it will require <br />$4250 to improve Helen St. and sta ted about- the length of tihree blocks thereof <br />is adjacent to the avaiation field and recomnended the City pay 50% of the ammunt <br />required to improve said street for such distance. On motion such recommendation <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />Fire and Water Committee:- <br />As per instructions, the Recorder produced all light :pe~i]ions filed during the <br />last four years, which lights have not been installed, and on motion, lights <br />were ordered installed at the points petitioned for as follows:- <br /> <br />3rd and Jackson <br />13th and Monroe <br />5th and Taylor <br />18th and Onyx <br />On 23rd Avenue between Lawr~nce and Lincoln Streets. <br />20th and Emerald. <br />Better lighting on Charnelton between 14th and 17th Avenues. <br />23rd and Olive. <br /> <br />18i;h <br />21st <br />23.rd <br />20th <br /> <br />and Emerald <br />and Emerald <br />and Agate <br />and Lawrence <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br />
