Meeting called to order by the W~yor. <br /> <br />Minutes of the meetings of March 12, March 19, and March 26, 192~,apprdved. <br /> <br />C A Wintermeier appeared as Attorney for n~s H J Manley claiming a damage <br />aga.1,nst the City for the death of H J Manley and threatening suit unless the <br />amounts claimed in the petition are paid. Said matter was referred to the JudiciaI' <br />Committee and the City Attorney. <br /> <br />As per the call, bi~s were opened as follows: <br /> <br />Paving Orchard Street from the South line of ]'ranklin Boulevard to the North line <br />of 19th Avenue, as follows: <br /> <br />Hargrea~es and Lindsay <br />::3tein Bros. <br />Guy F Pyle <br /> <br />~24562.00 <br />228'74.00 <br />22055.50 <br /> <br />Such bids were referred to the Street C001mittee for report and it reported favor- <br />abl~ on the bid of Guy F Pyle at $22055.50. On motion such report was adopted and <br />the Mayor and Recorder were instructed to enter into a contract with such success- <br />ful bidder for ,such contract v\I'lork. <br /> <br />Bids were opened for the wideni~,g and depening of the Amazon Slough from a <br />point 240 feet Vlest of Chambers Street to a point 2500 feet I~orth and West of the <br />starting point as follows: <br /> <br />Eugene Sand and Grave Co. <br />L G Harmon <br /> <br />i'ji2615.00 <br />2592.10 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On motion, all bids were rejected. <br /> <br />Bids were opened for the tileing and rocking the runwasy for aviation uses, <br />Of the Aviation J:1'ield, as follovvs: <br /> <br />Eugene Sand and Gravel Co. <br />A C Mathews <br /> <br />1.50 per cubic yd. <br />1.64 per cubic yd. <br /> <br />0uch bids were referred to the Street Committee as to the bids for furnishing the <br />gravel only for such work and the bid of the Eugene Sand and Gravel Co. a t ~pl. 50 <br />per cubic yard was recommended.
