M. on November 12, 1929. Council was called to order by Mayor f~ <br /> Wilder, and all councilmen present except Washburne, Reid, and Hendershott. <br /> As per the call, the following bids were received for sidewalk construction: <br /> Ordinance No. 7568 <br /> Peter A. Nelson 37.60 - approved <br /> Said bids were referred to the Street Committee for report, and such committee <br /> recommended those bids be accepted after which the word "approved" is written as <br /> to each ordinance number. On motion, such. report was adopted. <br /> The Health Committee was on request granted further time for the preparation <br /> of the meat inspection ordinance. <br /> At the request of the Police committee, City Attorney Calkins discussed the <br /> situation as to the County and City Dog licenses, stating that the City had the <br /> 'absolute right to license dogs within the City. , <br /> Councilman Hendershott appeared in Council at this time. <br /> Mr. Beard, representing the citizens traffic committee, read and submitted <br /> the committee's report on parking regulations. On motion, the recoD~endations <br /> of said report were accepted by the Council and ordered embodied in a traffic <br /> ordinance. <br /> Building Inspector Rundlett's report for October was read and placed on file. <br /> The Recorder was instructed to write a letter to the City Health Officer <br /> requesting him to file a monthly report. <br />I A communication from the Lane County Dog Control Board, suggesting cooperation <br /> with the County in the collection of dog taxes, was read and placed on file. <br /> 0 <br /> Requests of Minnie Ellens to operate a rooming house at 57f.r West Sixth Avenue <br /> and Frank Dav~s to conduct the McKenzie Hotel at 32 West 8th Street, both approved <br /> by the Chief of Police, were on motion granted. <br /> The City Planning Commission recommended that the Council do not accept the <br /> deed to land for street purposes tendered by Mrs. Kyburz. On motion the recommenda <br /> tion was adopted. <br /> A petition of the merchants between Sixth and Seventh Streets, suggesting 30 <br /> minute parking with Tourists excepted, was read and placed on file. <br /> .I ~ <br /> ' il <br />
