The ayes and nays were called, all pI'e8en t voting aye, <br /> absent none. The Ordinances were declared passed and numbered consecutively from <br /> 781~~ to 7833, both numbers inclusive. <br /> An Ordinance regulating the ere c ting and main te nance of signs llild banner s <br /> over sidewalks and streets and upon buildings and property within the limits of <br /> the Ci t.>T of Eugene was read the first time, and passed its second and third read- <br /> ings by ti tIe by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule, and was placed <br /> on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen vo t ing aye. <br /> The Ordi nance vvas declared passed and numbered 7834. <br /> I <br /> An Ordinance providing for the construction of a cement sidewalle on the <br /> East side of ~ill Street between 17th and 18th Avenues was read the first time, <br /> and passe d its second and third read ings by title by unanimous consent under sus- <br /> pension of the rule, and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were <br /> called, all C ounc i Imen va ting aye. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered <br /> 7835. <br /> I Councilman Washburne called attention to the fact that some time ago a <br /> req,uest was made to the City Council for the cut ting of the sidewalk for a drive- <br /> way to the Hansen property on Olive Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, and that <br /> the Council had refused to grant a cut of the width request but that the pl"operty <br /> owne I' had made the cut regardless of the City's position and a motion was made, <br /> see 0 nd ed, and carried that he be advised to restore the sidewalk and that if not <br /> done the City should make the repair and assess the cost against the property. <br /> The Laura Traschel damage claim was referred to the finance committee for <br /> furthe I' c onsidera t ion. <br /> liLr. Robert Fi sche I' of the Fourth of July celebrat ion cornmi ttee extended <br /> an invitation to the lIra,yor and Council to participate in the Fourt~ of July parade <br /> A motion was made, seconded, and carried directing the Mayor and Recorder, <br /> constituting the Official Canvassing Board, tome e t on Tue sday , July 1st, and <br /> make the official canvass of the returns of the special election held on June <br /> 23rd, 1930. <br /> On mo ti on the Council adjourned. <br /> R.
