On motion, such report was approved. <br /> A communication fro~ the residents in the vicinity of 24th and James Streets <br /> and a copy of the petition previously addressed to the Postmaster asking for <br /> relief in the matter of mail service, was presented to the Gouncil. <br /> The following resolution was read and was on motion duly adopted: <br /> I "Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugehe that we favor <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I the extension of Mail Service to residences in the vicinity of 24th and James <br /> :1 <br /> :1 Streets, and that we urge upon the Postmaster the extension of free mail service <br /> :j to this locali~y, and that the Rec order be instructed to communicate the expressio <br /> I: of the Council to the Postmaster. If <br /> I ~s. Flanigan appeared before the Gouncil in reference to a claim of refund I <br /> on City Assessment, claiming an over-payment on her part in the division of the <br /> I, asse ssmen t, and the ma t ter was referred to the City At torney for de tailed investi- <br /> II gation. <br /> II <br /> II Chairman Large of the Finance Committee recommended that the City accept the <br /> Ii <br /> Ii offer of School District No.4 to pay $69.92, principal amount of a sewer assess- <br /> Ii ment against Lot 10, Block 3, Shaw's Second Addition, and that the City remit <br /> II <br /> , <br /> I the accrued interest, and that the Treasurer be instructed to receipt the assess- <br /> II ment in full upon the payment of said sum. Motion was made and seconded that the <br /> I' <br /> Ii recommendation be adopted. The ayes and nays were called, all present voting aye, <br /> I' <br /> II <br /> .J <br />
