Baker for dance hall license at 8th and Charnelton Sts. <br />approved by Chief Hall, was on motion granted. <br /> <br />Nine Sidewalk Improvement Ordinances were read the first time, and passed <br />their seoond and third readings by title by unanimous oonsent under suspensionof <br />the rUle, and was placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were called, <br />all Gouncilmen voting aye, nay, none, absent Monroe. The Ordinances were deolared <br />passed and numbered from 7915 to 7923, both numbers inclusive. <br /> <br />Seven Sidewalk Assessment Ordinances were read the first time and laid over. <br /> <br />Counoilman Lamb moved that the ,Engineer be instruoted to purohase exoavation <br />dirt now being excavated on the Sohaefer's property at the Northeast oorner of <br />Eleventh and Willamette streets at a prioe of 25~ per yard, and that the same be <br />~ used for filling in along the Mill Raoe on Franklin Street east of the anohorage. <br />.' The motion was seoonded and carried. <br /> <br />An Ordinanoe permitting the operation of golf oourses and tennis oourts and <br />the pl83ing of golf and tennis in the Ci ty of Eugene on Sunday was read the first, <br />time, and passed its second and third readings by title by unanimous oonsent under <br />suspension of the rule, and was plaoed on its final passage. The ayes and nays <br />were called, all Councilmen voting aye, nay, absent Monroe. The Ordinanoe was <br />deolared passed and numbered 7924. <br /> <br />On reoommendation of the Chief of Polioe and Polioe Committee, motion was <br />made and seoonded that ~D. 'E.
