<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />69 <br /> <br />,The fOllowing resolution was on motion adopted: <br /> <br />n <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of ,Eugene has acquired the North 40 feet of the South <br />115 feet of Lot 11, Block 1, Driverton's Addition by deed in foreclosure, and <br />WHEREAS, the total amount of the City's interest in said property, includ- <br /> <br />::') <br />,.",,"1 <br />~~ <br />:~ <br /> <br />ing liens, interest, penalties, and recording fees to June 9th, is the total sum <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />of $328.62, and <br />WHEREAS, J. E. Cross is the owner and holder of a mortgage interest in <br />said property and has offe~d and tendered to the city a cashiers check on the <br />Eugene Loan and Savings Bank for the sum of $328.62, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it re solved, that in consideration of said sum the Ci ty <br />does hereby sell said property to said J. E. Cross, and that the Mayor and Recorde <br />be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a bargain and sale deed to <br /> <br />said J. E. Cross in consideration of said sum~ <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />The following resolution was on motion adopted: <br /> <br />n <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />'Whereas, the Ci ty of Eugene has acquired the following de scribed property, <br />towit: Beginning at a point 123 feet North of a point 863.5 f'eet South 89 degrees <br />52 minutes West from a point 1883 feet North 27 minutes East from the Southwest <br />corner of Block 7 of Packard's A.ddition to Eugene, Oregon, running thence South 89 <br />degrees 52 minutes West 167 feet, thence North 27 minutes East 54 feet, thence <br />East to a point North 27 minutes East of the beginning point and thence South 27 <br />minutes West 54 feet to the place of beginning, being part of the original donatio <br />land claim of Eugene F. Skinner and wife No. 64, in Township 17 South of Range 3 <br />West of the Willamette Meridian in the County of Lane and the State of Oregon, by <br />deed in foreclosure, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the total amount of the City's interest in said property, includi g <br />liens, interest, penalties, and recording fees to June 9th, is the total sum of <br />$250.84, and . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Whereas, the State Mutual Building and Loan Association, a corporation of <br />Los Angeles, California, is the owner and holder of a mortgage interest in said <br />property and has offered to pay the City of Eugene the full amount of liens, <br />interest and penalties due the City, <br /> <br />Now, Therefore, be it resolved that in consideration of said sum the City <br />does hereby sell said property to the said State Mutual Building and Loan Associa- <br />tion, a corporation of Los Angeles, Calffornia and that the ~~yor and Recorder be <br />and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a bargain and sale deed to said <br />State Mutual Building and Loan Association, a corporation of Los Angeles, Ca1ifornoa, <br />in consideration of said sum. 11 <br /> <br />A letter from the town of' Creswell to the Eugene Fire Pept., expressing <br />appreciation of the departments services in recent fire at Creswell, was read, and <br />an enclosed check of $25.00 was on motion ordered placed to the credit of the <br />general fund of the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Eleven Sidewalk Assessment Ordinances were read the first time and laid ov r. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Three Sidewalk Improvement Ordinances were read the first time. and passed <br />their second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of <br />the rule, and were placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were called, <br />all Councl J.men voting aye, nay, none. The Ordinances were declared pa ssed and <br />numbered from 8142 to 8144, both numbers inclusive. <br /> <br />Eighty-four Sidewalk Assessment Ordinances were read the first time and <br />laid over. <br /> <br />On motion Inspector Lawrence was directed to accept the invitation to <br />attend the Pacific Northwest Dairy and Milk Inspectors' Assn. meeting in PortlanQ <br />on June 11th and 12th. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilman Zumwalt moved that the Council reconsider the appropriation of <br />$250.00 to the Salvation Army.
