Now at this time I hereby call a meeting <br />of the Eugene City Council to meet at Council Chambers in the City Hall at 7:30 <br />o'clock P:I\I. on this J\Iarc'h 27,1933 for the despatch of all business which will <br />regularly come befol'e the meeting. For the Durpose of allowing the bills, hearing <br />the Committee reports, and Officer's reports, consideration and passage of such <br />Ordinances as may be presented, mId for consideration of all matters which will <br />regularly come before said meeting. <br /> <br />Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon. <br />March 13, 1933. <br /> <br />On this March 13, 1933, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. it being the time regularly <br />fixed for the monthly Council meeting, came' the Mayor, Elisha Large, Arl,hur <br />Hendershott, Councilman, and R. S. Bryson, Recorder, and it appea~ing that a <br />quorum was not present, on motion of Councilman Hendershott and order of N~yor <br />Large, declaring that this meetinB adjourn to meet March 27, 1933, at 7:30 o'clock <br />P .'1>1: ,- , - , <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Dated March 27, 1933. <br /> <br />Elisha Large, <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Council Chambers, E1l€ ene, Ore go n. <br />March 27, 1933. <br /> <br />Council meeting pursuant to adjournment of March l3th and at the special call <br />of the Mayor for said meeting which was read at this time. Meeting was called to <br />order by Mayor Large, with all Councilmen present except Councilman Scobert. <br /> <br />A delegation of citizens appeared before the Council, and the question of an <br />Ordinance regulating the sale of ' beer in the City of Eugene was open for discussion <br />and remarks were made by Mr. Bond, Mr. Alderman, and Mr. Knowels of the Congregat- <br />ional Church; Rev. Heistel of the United Luthern Church; and lvIr. Landaker of the <br />Fairmount Presbyterian Church. A resolution presented by the First Baptist Church, <br />by I'Jr. Needham, was read. Remarks were made by Mr. 13eaumister, who conducts a <br />dancing hall, also remarks by Mr. Jacobs. After remarks from the various persons, <br />the Mayor referred the matter of preparing an Ordinance to the Judiciary Committee <br />and the City Attorney, and including in the Coa~ittee, at its request, Councilman <br />Bond of the Police Committee. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Finance Coa~ittee, by Chairman Hendershott, reported the following bills <br />to the Council with the recommendation that they be allowed, and motion was made <br />and seconded that Warrants be drawn fbr the same.
