The ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, -N <br /> absent Scobert and Simon. The Ordinance was declared passed and numb~red 8358. ,'~ <br /> Resignation of V. D. Scobert was .read and on mo ti on of Mr. Hendershot twas <br /> accepted by the Gouncil~ <br /> ~~. Hendershott made a protest against the traffic conditions at 8th and High <br /> Streets and the matter was referred to the Police Committee to see if any solution <br /> could be worked out. Mr. Hendershott also stated that he had received protests <br /> from the hotels and merchants on Willamette Street regarding the parking of trocks <br /> at night. The hotels claiming that when they started up in the early morning it <br /> disturbed the guests in the hotel~ Also::-!a prote st had been made to him regarding <br /> an ambulance that was parked on Willamette after 6:00 P.M. and left there for foul' <br /> 01' five hours. These matters were referred to the Chief of Police and Police <br /> .. Committee. <br /> Mr. Zumwalt asked that something be done regarding the traffic conditions on <br /> West 11th Street, stating that trucks and aubomobiles drive very fast on this <br /> Street and tha t there are consfderable accident s on account of the traffic corning <br /> in from the cross streets, and asked tha t thi s be made a slow street or 1;1. stop <br /> street. This matter was referred to the Police COD~ittee. <br /> A communication was received from Keller and Baer offering their services as <br /> engineers in connection with the proposed sewage disposal plant. Mr. Baer was here <br /> and presented the proposition to the Councilin person. Dr. F. D. Stricker also <br /> appeared before the Council and stated tha t they would like to have the Ci ty take 8\.'.1 <br /> some action in the matter of a sewer disposal plant in the not distant future. No <br /> action was taken by ,the C'ouncil on this subject. <br /> Mr. Richard Smith had talked with IiJI.r. Clubb in regard to a new road "that might <br /> be worked out in front of his and Judge Harris's property.
