S. Shelley, vs. <br />Nellie Orr, et al, was noted in the Council proceedings. <br /> <br />The Automobile Dealer's Association advised that under the automobile code <br />that where warrants are used in the purchase of automobiles or truck equipment the <br />discount must be added to the pUl"chase price. <br /> <br />Mayor Large named the following appointees to fill vacancies continued at the <br />last Council Meeting: <br /> <br />Planning Commission - Dr. Victor p~ Morris <br />Pa~k Board - Miss A. M. Smi"th <br />Board of Health - Ruth Kneeland <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On motion the appointments were confirmed by the Council. <br /> <br />The COfMlittee on Airport Extension reported to the Council that they had <br />accepted a sixty day option on the Wilkins' Tract at a price of $2,400.00 for the <br />entire tract, or at a price of $100.00 per acre for the acreage South of the <br />amazon; and motion was made seconded and carried to approve the action of the <br />Co@nittee. The Committee reported progress on other matters relating to the pro- <br />I posed Airport extension. City Attorney Calkins stated that the Court was with- <br />i holding the adoption of the Resolution for the vacation of Hellen Street. The <br />/tll following Resolution was read and on mo tion adopted, and the Recorder in structed <br />to deliver a copy to the County Court. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />1 <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />_. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the contemplated extension of the City of Bugene Airport to a <br /> <br />point North of its present Northern extension, the vacation of Hellen Street, a <br /> <br />County Road, has become necessary for the proposed extension of said Airport, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the project is deemed of immediate importance both as a means of <br /> <br />I present employment of labor, and <br /> <br />I <br />,I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />i <br />I <br />11 <br />i <br /> <br />as a menas of future development of great import- <br /> <br />ance to the City of Eugene, and <br /> <br />VffiEREAS, if C. W. A. funds are to be secured for the purpose of this <br /> <br />NOW, THEREOFRE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />development there is great need of haste. <br /> <br />that in the event that proceedings are had l"esulting in the vacation of Hellen <br /> <br />Street by the County Court of Lane County, that the City of Eugene will providean <br />equally good, sufficient and adequate road or street leading from Hellen Street <br /> <br />~orthward, East.of the proposed extension of the present Aviation Field, and ~est- <br /> <br />. <br />j <br /> <br />~ <br />
