Furrer 35.00 Blanche Jackson 47.25 <br /> At this time Councilman Reid appears in Council. <br /> The Pageant Committee, by Chairman Lamb, re ported that the promoters of the <br /> Pageant proposed to purchase a considerable number of street banners which will be <br /> stretched across the business streets to advertise the Pageant, and that after tre <br /> Pageant they would give these to the City to keep to use for similar purposes, <br /> with the privilege of renting them out in the future, and moved that the City accept <br />I I thi s propo si ti on. Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> The Co~nittee also reported that they had granted concessions for the parks <br /> of North and South Park Streets, which will be closed, and that 8th Avenue East <br /> would be kept open during the Pageant. <br /> On report of the Health Committee, by Chairman Zumwalt, it was ordered that the <br /> matter of cutting the grass in the extension of Willamette Street North of the <br /> Southern Pacific right-of-way, be referred to I.Ir. Cook of the Transient Servi ce. <br /> ~~. Zumwalt also reported that Mrs. McMurphey would probably make arrangements <br /> for removal of the old barn on West 8th Ave. between Charnelton and Lincoln Streets. <br /> Recommendations of ,the Park Board were su'bcni tted to the C01.ll1cil as follows: <br /> 1. That the road around the North top of Skinner's Butte be made four feet <br /> wider. <br />'.- 2. ~hat the cut-off road at the masonry reservoir be blocked off from traffic. <br /> 3. That the playground equipment all be moved to the tract lying West of <br /> the Pa~k Tender's Cottage. <br /> 4. That all posts on the South side of the road be moved to form a line, <br /> beginning at the bear pen and running westward along the South side of the <br /> road at a distance from the road to leave necessary parking space. <br /> 5. That the two toilet buildings between the two roads and near the East <br /> end of the Park be moved t'o a si te bacl<: of the store, the exact site to be <br /> selected later. <br /> 6. That the terraces where the tables now stand be lowered about one foot. <br /> 7. That the old band-stand be removed. ! <br />I 8. That the necessary signs for both Skinner's Butte and Hendrick's <br /> Parks be provided. <br /> 9. That two fou~-way stoves be built for Skinner's Butte and one for <br /> Hendrick's Park. <br /> 10. That about four hundred feet of two-inch pipe be laid in Skinner's <br /> Butte Park for irrigation and other purposes. <br />. 11. That stone steps be built where necessary. <br /> --4 <br />
