'00 <br /> ....--.. <br /> ':;'1'1 <br /> The Recorder presented the McGirr petition for erection of a service station ...... <br /> on 8th and Willamette Streets, which had been held for further consideration, and <br /> reported that in conversation with Mr. Vinson, of the Portland Trust and Savings <br /> Company, that as far as they were concerned they were only dealing with Mr. McGirr <br /> and they would not deal with any other person until McGirr's petition was acted <br /> upon. After considerable discussion and after having questioned Mr. Wilcox upon <br /> his ability to erect a building on this corner, Councilman Hendershott moved that <br /> the McGirr petition be denied. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lamb, and the ayes <br /> and nays called. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay Marris and Carlson, absent none. <br /> The Recorder wanted the Council to go on record authorizing the change of the <br /> payment for the U. S. Labor Bureau from F. L. Armitage to the National Re-employmen+ <br /> .~ I Service. On motion, seconded and carried this authorization was made. <br /> I It was reported that the Juvenile Gfficer had been appointed by Lane County, <br /> I and upon motion, seconded and carried it was determined that the City's allowance <br /> to this office should be paid to Lane County each month. <br /> The Recorder asked that the Council go on record as authorizing the calling <br /> of ~?2l,000.00 of the $175,000.00 Park and Terminal Bonds. Upon motion, seco.nded <br /> and carried this authorization was made, and the following numbers were drawn by <br /> lot by the Re~order: 7 , 12, 18, 22, 23, 31, 32, 34, 35, 56, 58, 62, 73, 103, 106, <br /> 115, 126, 133, 147, 156, 160. <br /> Standard form of Government Lease between the United States of America and <br /> the City of EU3ene for the office occupied by the Internal Revenue Collectors, was <br /> presented, and motion made and seconded to authorize the Mayor and Recorder to sign <br /> the same. " passed by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, June <br /> , <br /> 24, 1935, and approved by the Mayor the 27th day of June, 1935, and declaring an <br /> emergency was read the first time and passed its second and third readings by title <br /> under suspension of the rule by the unanimous consent of the Council and was placed <br /> upon its final passage. The ayes and nays were call~d, Councilmen voting aye 8, <br /> nay none, absent none. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8431. <br /> Mayor Large presented the Airport program, pointing out that there were <br /> between $200 and ~300 needed to complete the lighting at the boundary of the field. <br /> Dr. Harris objected very strenuously to this, stating that the City was not getting <br /> anything out of. what was put into it. It was finally moved and ~econded that this <br /> be granted, and the money be paid out of the Aviation Fund.
