<br />Recorder was instructed to communicate with the Lane County Court and ask
<br />, for their authorizing the R~corder's Office to handle the sale of dog licenses

<br />At this time the City Recorder was asked to open bids received far sale of
<br />securities held by the city of Eugene Sinking Fund pursuant to published notice
<br />on November 13, 1936. Sadd bids were opened. Mayor Large asked Councilman Hen-
<br />dershott, chairman of the Finance Committee J Mr. John Fie Ids, Deput.y Recorder, Mr.
<br />Levern Hawn, Vice-President of E. M. Adams Company, and C.., A. Horton, City Auditor,
<br />to retire to the office of the City Recorder and bring back recommendations as to
<br />,successful bidders and also to consider the bid of W. 0,. Swan on alley running
<br />~ ,north and south between Potter and University Streets from 19th to 20th Streets in
<br />29 the city of Eugene, Oregon.

<br />While the Committee was in session, the council accepted the offer of Mrs~
<br />, Margaret\'...~1~It~Jzer Davidson who offers the city $50.00 cash down on l8ts 1. and 2,

<br />Communication from Bryant G. deBar suggesting Automatic Coverage Endorsement
<br />, which automat~cally affords coverage to all equipment, except the Fire Department

<br />Request from Chas. Lindsay, 1325 Olive Street, asking the council to determlnl
<br />, the feasibility of opening alley from Thirteenth to Fifteenth was referred to the

<br />I Councilman Lamb, Chaimman of the Street Committee, reported that a lj ton
<br />truck equipped with a dump body and hydrallic hoist, Dodge, 1936, had been pur-
<br />I '- chased from the Sig10h-Sawyer Company and asked for the approval of the council ~ ,.

<br />An Ordinance accepting the bid of W. O. Swan for $1135.90 of Improvement Bond
<br />of the City of Eugene was read the first time and passed to its second and third
<br />readings by unanimous consent of the council by title under suspension of the rule
<br />and was placed upon its final passage, The ayes and nays were called, councilmen
<br />\. voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Simon, Zumwalt, Bond, Harris and Carlson; nay,
<br />38 none; absent, none. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8496.
