Mayor Large called the meeting to order. M. Dinsmore reported that when the new water main was laid in front of her <br />property at 296 Lawrence Street that the settling of the same has caused the sidewalk to drop to <br />one side and the driveway crossing the main is sunken and broken. She was asked to consult Mr.J.W. <br />MoArthurt Superintendent of the Eugene Water Board~ on the matter. <br /> <br />The reoommendation of. the Judiciary Connni ttee to not allow the $74.00 claim of Albert D. <br />Appleg~te~ was upon motion made and duly seconded~ accepted. <br /> <br />The $600.00 cash offer of E. B. McCall for the East 80 feet of the North 160 feet of <br />Lot 2~ Block 28~ Fairmount Additiont was upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee~ held for <br />further consideration and it was so ordered. <br /> <br />The $400.00 cash offer of L. N. Lengacher for Lot 9. Block 6. Fairmount Amended Addition. <br />was upon motion made and seconded, denied by the council and a counter-offer of $800.00 extended. <br /> <br />. <br />The $350.00 cash offer of Ralph M. walker for ,Lot 3, Block I, Gilmore Addition~ was upon <br />motion made and seconded~ denied by the council and a counter-offer of $600.00 extended. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommended waiver of the 10% penalty and 10% interest and in lieu <br />thereof acoept payment of 6% 1nterest~ plus principal sum~ on property described ,as "Beginning at a <br />point 280 feet North of the Southwest corner of Strip "A" of the Elias Stewart Addition to Eugenet <br />Oregon and rwming thence North 140 feet. thence East 61 feet, thence South 140 feet~ thence West <br />61 feet to the place of beginning. all in Eugene. Lane, County~ Oregon./l This request was made by <br />A. R. Zimmer. and upon motion made and. duly seconded, the recommendation of the Committee, was ap- <br />proved. . <br /> <br />The $750.00 c,ash offer ,of B. H. Coffman for property described as "Beginning at a point <br />in the West line of Madison Street 81 feet South of the South line of Broadway. nmning thence <br />South 80 feet. thence West 80 feet; thence North 80 feet. thence East 80 feet to the place of be- <br />ginning" was rejected by the council and a counter-offer of $1000 extended. Mr. C. K. Talbott's <br />$650.00 offer for the same piece of property was likewise rejected and the same counter-offer ex- <br />tended. <br /> <br />Connnunication from B. J. Morrow asking for council's reconsideration of hi s $185.00 <br />offer for Lot 10. Block 26, College Hill Park Addition, was presented. The council refused to ac- <br />oept less than $275.00 and it was so ordered. <br /> <br />Offer of Mary W. Wright in the sum of $350.00 cash for Lot 2~ Block 10~ Hollenbeck's <br />Addition. was rejected by the council and a counter-offer of $586.25 extended. <br /> <br />W. C. Mclain's second offer 01'$600.00 for Lot 6~ Block 21, College Hill Park Addition~ <br />was acoepted by the counoil. <br /> <br />The $561.15 offer of Colin H. Macdonald for Lot 3~ Blook 26~ College Hill Park Addition~ <br />was rejected by the council and a counter-offer of $600.00 extended. <br /> <br />The ,$475.00 offer of G. R. Clemens for Lot 2, Block l~ Gilmore Addition, was rejeoted <br />by the council and a counter-offer of $600.00 extended. <br /> <br />Communication from the Clerk of Lane, County stating that they had received an offer for <br />the South 100 feet of Lot 10~ Block 3, Whiteaker's Addition~ against whioh the city has liens~ was <br />presented. The Mayor and Recorder were authorized to exeoute a warrant for payment of the taxes to <br />lane County and place a value of $1800.00 upon said property and it was so ordered. <br /> <br />The $700.00 offer of ~r. and Mrs. Theodore Forcier for the North'68 feet of Lot 5, Blook <br />20~ Packard ~ddition. was rejected by the council and a counter-offer of $1000 extended. <br /> <br />Relative to the Norman F. Schneider offer, the oouncil rescinded its former aotion, and <br />agreed to accept the $U14.:i7; offer with a payment of $10.00 per month on the condition that :Mr. <br />Schneider clear up the taxes with Lane County, amoUnting to ,$106.51'" Tlie Mayor and Recorder were <br />directed to enter into a oontract on behalf of Mr. Schneider and the following resolution was upon <br />motion made anq duly seconded, adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />'WHEREAS, the City of Eugene has acquired title to the following described <br />property, to-wit: <br /> <br />Lot 2~ Block 2, West 6th Street Addition to the <br />City of Eugene <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />..... <br />
