Richardson died on July 13, 1938, and ,....... <br /> WHEREAS, at the time of her death she was' and had been for <br /> many years a trusted and faithful employee of the City of <br /> Eugene, and was held in high regard and respect by all who <br /> knew her, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common <br /> I Council of the City of Eugene that while we accept the de- <br /> cree of a Supreme Power-" yet do we deplore the loss of a <br /> valued employee, a citizen of outstanding worth. <br /> That we extend to her family our sincere sympathy in their <br /> bereavement"; and that this resolution be spread upon the <br /> minutes of this meeting and a copy forwarded to the family <br /> of the deceased. <br /> ,. <br /> It was the recommendation of the Health Committee that the request of <br /> Frank Chambers be denied and demolition proceedings against Yates Hotel be in- <br /> stituted. Upon motipn made and seconded, the recommendation was put to a vote ,. <br /> and it appearing that the vote was very close, it was put upon roll call and <br /> councilmen voted as follows: Aye, Reid, Page, Farrington and Carlson; nay; Lamb, <br /> Hendershott, Hanns and Bond. It being a tie vote, the Mayor cast his vote in favor <br /> of the demolition by voting aye; thereby breaking the tie. By special permission <br /> of the Council,' Mr. Frank Chambers was given until September 1,"1938 to tear down <br /> 29 the building and it was so ordered. <br /> I <br /> Upon motion made and duly seconded, Jennie L. and Brownell Frasierr owner <br /> 30 of Joe's Place, were also given until September 1, 1938, to demolish said building. <br /> ( <br /> It was reported that Ben F. Dorris and Klysta Cornett Dorris have execute <br /> a deed on behalf of the City of Eugene for Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Wallace Dorris <br /> I Addition to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, upon payment to them of $10.00 and the Cit <br /> paying the delinquent taxes. Upon motion made and duly seconded, this was duly <br /> 30 approved. <br /> I <br /> City Attorney Calkins announced that steps were being taken to tear down <br /> or repair the various houses reported to him for condemnation, to-wit: 2411 Potter <br /> (owned by the City); 1432 Moss (Chief of Police has been authorized to see the <br /> owners and ask them to tear it down); 1028 Kincaid (House is in good condition, <br /> and parties are repairjng it now}; 1257 Adams (small shed - Chief of Police is tryi g <br /> . 31 to locate the owners and ask them to demolish the building.
