At that time the department would be ready to make all repairs. <br />, <br /> <br />Mr. Hanns, Ohairman of the Fire and Water Committee, requested that <br />Homer Middlesworth, member of the Fire Department, who was recently i'njured in an <br />automobile accident, be granted a year's leave of absence effective April 1, 1939 <br />10 and it was so ordered. <br />t <br /> <br />The $500.00 offer of M. L. E~ickson for Lot 7, Blpck 23, 'Gross Additio <br />and $425.00 for either one of Lots 8, 9, and 10, Block 23, Gross Addition, was de- <br />clined by the Finance Committee and a counter-offer of the lots made as follows: <br />$900.00 for Lot 7; $600.00 for Lot 8; $600.00 for Lot 9; and $650.00 for Lot 10. <br />Upon motion made and secpnded, these recommendations were unanimously approved. <br /> <br />11 <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hanns, Ohairman of the Fire and Water Oommittee, reported that he <br />had received a request from Rob-Les Oil Oompany, 195 Van Buren'Street for a permit <br />to increase their storage facilities from 280 to 1000 gallons, which Mr. Hanns re- <br />commended be granted. Upon motion made and seconded, this request was unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />IF; <br />/ <br /> <br />Councilman Reid requested that the city attorney be instructed to take <br />the necessary steps to condemn and remove the trees adjoining residence at 2241 <br />Alder Street as the roots are interfering with the sewer system and it was so or- <br />dered by the council. <br /> <br />13 <br />, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Police Committee recoIDDlended transfer of Retail Beer Class "B" <br />License from Joe D. Hale to F.E. and C.F. Welch, new proprietors of Lone star Joe <br />located at 663 Willamette Street.
