The matter was referred to the <br />Health Committee for report'at the next meeting of the counoil. <br /> <br />{\.:l <br /> <br />The City Reoorder recommended that a resolution be presented to the Eugene Gleemen <br />oommending them for the fine work they have been doing and upon their prospeoti ve trip to the World <br />Fair at San Francisco to represent Eugene as well as the State of Oregon. Upon motion made and <br />seoonded the recommendation was unanimously approved. (see bottom of page for resolution) <br />a <br />Mayor Large reported thaYrepresentative of the Federal Housing Program had, called on <br />him a number of times oonoerning the establishment of government airled nousing projeots in the City <br />of Eue;ene. <br /> <br />...~. ... <br />>,;;..- <br /> <br />,'!.':Mil. <br /> <br />S;.:, <br /> <br />Counoilmah Hanns reported that complaints had been entered against some of the merohants <br />in Eugene in regard to having the awnings Over their windows the proper heighth from the side,valk. <br />It was believed that the regulating ordinance was not being striotly adhered to. After a <br />short disoussion the Chief of Police and the Building Inspeotor were asked to investigate the <br />matter and report reok at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Reid asked that a $50.00 oontribution be made to assist in deoorating the <br />float representing the City of Eugene in the P~se Festival to be held in Portland during the seoond <br />week of June. After considerable discussion a motion was made and seoonded that this $50.00 <br />be appropriated.
