Upon motion made and seconded the recommendation was unanimously <br /> approved and the City Recorder instructed to inform the Eugene Water Board of this <br /> 14- change. <br /> It was reported by Mayor Large that the Frazier property, commonly known as <br /> Joe's place, had not been removed and the City Engineer was instructed to pre~re <br /> speeifications and call for bids for the removal of the bUilding and it was so <br /> 15J ordered. <br /> Councilman Page, Chairman of the Park Committee, stated that no action had <br /> been taken to connect the graded road in Hendrick's Park with the Rostein road as ha <br /> ".. been previously approved, but stated that the same is being carefully watched by the <br /> ;L'6 city. Communication from Mrs. Allison <br /> stated that after calling a plumber to make the repairs it was discovered that the <br /> City sewer was causing the ~rouble and respectfully reo1.B sted the city to pay the <br /> bill. As the Sewer Committee recommended the aenial of this bill, motion was made a d <br /> seconded denying the bill and it was so ordered. It was also recommended by the <br /> 18/ Sewer Committee that the $7.,00 sewerage claim of Bertha M. Furrow be aenied and <br /> upon motion made and seconded the recommendation was unanimously approved. <br /> Councilman Bond, Chairman of the Police Committee, re~rted the request of <br /> I Mr. Asa L. Findlay for a transfer of his bottled beer license from his original plac <br /> of business, the Tip Top on East 10th ~treet to his present location at 855 Olive <br /> Street because his original place of business had burned down. Upon motion made and <br /> 19....- seconded the request was unanimously approved. <br /> An application for a rooming house ~rmit in behalf of Josephine Lindland wa <br /> presented, and as the application had been approved by the Chief of Police, motion <br /> 20- was made and seconded unanimously approving the granting of a license. <br /> An application for a Second-Hand Dealers License was presented on behalf <br /> of L. C. Holloway and as the application had been approved by-the Chief of Police, <br /> 21.... motion was made and seconded unanimously approving the granting of a license. <br /> The Recorder presented communications from R. L. Hazeltine, Radio Operator i <br /> charge of the Eugene Airport, and C. C. Lange, Superintendent of the Civil Aeronauti s <br /> Authority in Seattle, asking that their lease with the City of Eugene be rewritten <br /> to include the 11 x 12 foot room in the southwest corner of the Administration <br /> Building allowing them to use this space as a storeroom. A req~st was also presen ed <br /> in behalf of J0seph Harrell and Mrs. Mamie Zumwalt asking for additional storeroom <br /> s~ce in the main waiting room, referring to the same 11 x 12 foot room which is now <br /> being used without authority by the Civil Aeronautics Authority. City Engineer Club <br /> stated that in his opinion there is plenty of space in this one building for both <br /> parties and felt that this condition could be adequately settled. Mayor Large state <br /> that Joseph Harrell and Mrs. Zumwalt were in charge of the student training school, <br /> which enrolls about forty students, and were r ece i ving about $270.00 per year for ea h <br /> I student which makes a sizable income'. After considerable discussion the matter was <br /> 22 - referred to the Finance Committee to report back at the next council meeting. <br /> Councilman Bond presented the request of Dr. Harry Titus for permission to <br /> paint a yellow strip in front of his hOllie at 214 East 13th Street as a matter of con <br /> venience for people calling on him at his home. The Police Committee recommended <br /> that this request be denied and -upon motion made and seconded the recommendation was <br /> 23- unanimously approved. <br /> I A request was received from the Bangs Hotel for the installation of a hotel <br /> zone. The Police Committee recommended that this reqqest be denied and upon motion <br /> 24 - made and seconded the recommendation was unanimously approved. <br /> Communication and a rough draft of Onyx Plat, was presented from Calvin and <br /> Kat.tlryn E. Crumbaker respectfully reque sting that all of Baker Boulevard which lie s <br /> between Blocks five and six , Onyx Plat be vacated.
