As t.his property is just south of 1"':,~', <br />33 the duplex zone, the Board recommends that the request be granted. ;~:::j, <br /> <br />A request from the Standard Oil Company for permission to construct, maintai <br />5~ and operate a service pit at the new municipal airport was ordered placed on file. <br /> <br />I A request from Fred Roberts for a refund of $6.00 on building permit <br />#16008 was read. Mr. ..Roberts explained that due to complications he could not <br />35 build at this time. a motion was made and seconded that this refund be made. <br /> <br />Two curb cuts were recommended by City Engineer Clubb and granted by the <br />56 council as follows: #892, E. J. Kieth; #893, J. C. Watts. <br /> <br />The Library report for the month of June, 1941 was read and ordered placed <br />37 on file. <br /> <br />A request from M. E. Batchelor for permission to erect a garage within <br />2 feet 6 inches from the property line at 22nd and McMillan was referred to the <br />38 Board of Appeals. <br /> <br />The Recorder reported that a copy of the 1941 annual report of the Eugene <br />39 Water Board had heen filed with the Cityl <br /> <br />Councilman Barette reported that there were three bills for work done by <br />the Street department for private owners that had not been paid. These bills <br />were as follows: Mr. J. E. Moore, 260 W. 12th; Mr. Gordon Fish, 261 W. 19th; Mr. <br />A. V. Lewis, 2173 Alder. Councilman Barette stated that he did not care to read , <br />the names in open council meeting but wanted to know what should be done in regard <br />to collecting them. A motion was made and seconded that these three bills be <br />turned over. to the City Attorney for collection. Councilman Barette further <br />r~ported that the Street department had been doing this private work without first <br />I securing a written order to have the work done. He felt that some kind of an <br />. ,. order sho~ld be prepared and signed by the person authorizing the wor~ before the <br />: ~ork was started. Upon motion by the council the Judiciary Committee and City , <br />Attorney were instructed to prepare forms covering work done by the street depart- <br />40 ment for private parties. <br /> <br />Mayor Large reported he had a letter from Mr. Herman Kehrli about. Mr. <br />H. D.
