M., Uctober 27th, 1941, i81 <br /> ,I" ~. <br /> in trle Council Chambers. Citizen Budget members present were; Dr. A. E. Caswell, 1c::Jl <br /> Robert M.Fischer Jr., C. A. Horton, Geo. H. McMorran, and("Edwar.df~' Bailey. ~ <br /> Absent were, Charles L. Sigloh, Herbert J. Cox, and L. C. SCharpf. All councfulmen <br /> were present with the exception of Stewart. The Mayor stated that the first part <br /> of the meeting would be open for comments and recommendations from the taxpayers, <br /> on the proposed buqget for the first six months of the year 1942. The Mayor <br /> called for objections or comments from taxP51yers and there was no response. The <br /> Mayor then closed the taxj;)8yers meeting and opened the meeting to the budget <br /> I committee. It was the unanimous opinion that the budget be approved as adopted <br /> and it was so ordered. The Mayor said he wished to thank the bUdget committee on <br /> behalf of the Council for the excellent work that had been done on the bddget <br /> and that he wa~ sure they had done a good job as there was not one taxp~yer present <br /> 1 to make an objection. On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> \ <br /> The council immediately convened and an ordinance adopting the budget <br /> had its first reading and under suspension of the rules was read for the second <br /> time. The Mayor cal1~d for objections and there being none, the ordinance was <br /> read for the third time and on roll call all councilmen present voted aye: Stewart <br /> 2v- absent. Ordinance 8698 was declared passed. <br /> Mr. R. E. Harrell said there had been a mistake in the blue prints as <br /> presented to the building inspector. He said the blue prints only showed a set- <br /> back of ,15 feet while the intention was to show the regular set-back of 16 ~eet. <br /> Mayor Large explained there was a report on this from the Board Of Appeals and the <br /> 3 matter would come up later in the meeting. <br /> Councilman Koppe r~ported for the Judiciary COrrilllittee and stated it <br /> was their recommendation that the increase in rates asked for by the Terminal Taxi <br /> Company should be granted and stated he wished to make a motion to this effect. <br /> '4f This motion was seconded by Hawn and carried. <br /> Councilman Koppe also reported regarding a bill from Arnold Suiker, 2532 <br /> Nickson Street for darrlages to a Plymouth automobile in the street at 25th between <br /> I Onyx and Emerald Streets. This bill was in the am,mnt of $36.90 and Mr. Koppe <br /> s~id at this time he only wished to state that it WLS the opinion of the Judiciary <br /> Committee that this bill would have to be paid but it belamd over until the items <br /> 5 could be checked and determine the exact amout that should be paid. <br /> I' <br /> The Finance Cownittee presented the property offers. <br /> , <br /> The offer of A. H. Auferoth of $480.00, $100.00 cash and the balance <br /> at $31.50' per month without interest for Lot 5, Block 5" Cheshire's Addition was <br /> accepted by the Finance Committee and the Council on condition that the City reserv <br /> seven feet on the west of the lot for an alley and that his payments include intere t <br /> at 6%. His offer was conditional on Board of Appeals action to his request to <br /> '~ build a store with apartments above. Motion was made, seconded and carried that <br /> 6 he be referred to the Planning Comrnission. <br /> The offer of Grace Moore of $50.00 cash for the East 49 feet of Lot 1, <br /> - Block 4, Travis Addition was held for the $75.00 offer originally made, by thee <br /> 7 Finance Committee and the Council. <br /> . ,The offer of Harry I. Hamilton of $300.00 cash for Lot 7, Block 2, <br /> Zimmer's Addition was held for the appraisal price of $350.00 by both the Finance <br /> '8 Committee and the Council. <br /> The offer of Harry I. Hamilton of $300.00, $60.00 cash and the balance <br /> " at $10.00 or more per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 6, Block 2, Zimmer's <br /> I' Addition was also held for the appraisal price of $350.00 by the Finance Committee <br /> 9 and the council. <br /> 'The offer of Mrs. Wm. Emigh of $100.00, $20.00 cash and the balance <br /> at $10.00 or more per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 1, Block 1, Cramer's <br /> 10 Addition was accepted by the Finance Cormnittee and the Council. <br /> The request of C. R. Lindgren for a refund of $50.00 on part of lots <br /> I 4 and 5, Block 2, Fairmount Heights Addition for starting construction within <br /> 11 60 days was granted by the Finance Committee and the Council. <br /> The offer of J. F. Cramer for School District #4 of $950.00, $250.00 cash <br /> and the balance on or before June 30, 1942 plus interest at 6% for the West 100 <br /> feet of Lots 7 and 8, Block 34, Gross Addition was held for the appraisal price <br /> 12 of $1050.00 by the Finance Comrnittee and the Council. <br /> The offer of Ward W. Johnston for $450.00 cahs for Lot 1, Block 5, <br /> Hollenbeck Addition was held for the bounter offer of $500.00 be the ~inance <br /> . 13 Comrnittee and the Council. <br /> ..... <br />
