There is every indication that this <br />installation can be made at the time the sewer lines are laid for the hous- <br />ing project. <br />Our Municipal Court is underway and has conducted four sessions to date. <br />I beleive it is apparent that the operations of the court together with a <br />traffic safety program by the Police Department will bring desired results <br />in the coming months. <br />The work of remodeling and redecorating in the Fire Department is progress- <br />ing favorable and the F~remen are to be commended for the work they are doing <br />in that program. <br />The Council is requested to meet Thursday March 15th with the members of <br />the School Board to discuss vacation of streets and alleys adjacentt to the <br />proposed new high-school site. This office will notify council members of <br />the exact time and place of the meeting. <br />Letters have been written to members of the City Health Board inviting <br />them to a meeting March 20th for the purpose of reactivating the Board and <br />setting up a program of working cooperation between the Board and City Coun- <br />cil. <br />A study is being made of building facilities for the various City Depart- <br />mentsand a report will be made to the Council in the near future. <br /> <br />,",. <br />'...__i <br /> <br />I <br />t <br />I, <br />II <br />II <br />I: <br />II <br />II <br />[, <br />~I <br />II <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Upon motion the report was ordered received and placed on file. <br /> <br />The City Health Officer Dr. C. R. Lindgren submitted a communication <br />relative to report on Eugene Milk Supply. Motion was" made by Hurley and <br />seconded by Bailey that letter be referred to the Health Board. Motion was <br />carried. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND C01~ISSIONS: <br /> <br />The following report of the Board of Appeals was submitted and read: <br /> <br />The Board of Appeals has received a request from Robert W. Prescott, I, <br />agent, asking to be allowed to use the un-occupied space in the basement and <br />on the third floor of the Hampton Building at Sixth and Willamette streets <br />for storage purposes. Owing to the construction of the building and the <br />traffic hazard on Sixth Avenue, the Board reCommend that the request be denied. <br /> <br />I' <br />I <br />I: <br />r <br /> <br />it was moved by Hawn and seconded by Davis that the report be adopted. Shelley asking for a permit to <br />erect an addition to an existing garage on the rear of the lot at the north- <br />east corner of the intersection of Lawrence street and second avenue. The <br />Board recommends that the request be granted on condition that he make the whole <br />structure conform to the requirements of the Building Code. Two members of the Board recom- <br />mend that the request be denied, a third member recommends that Mrs. Perry be <br />granted a special permit to make the changes without changing the zoning. <br /> <br />It was moved by Bailey and seconded by Hurley that the request for permit be <br />approved.
