Hamilton Co. in the <br />amount of $20,846.20 be accepted, and the contract awarded to them. <br />Your committee further recommends that the City Manager be authorized to <br />negotiate with the contractor any changes relative to size, amount, or type of <br />material that may be necessary by reason of certain requirements of the Oregon <br />State Sanitary Authorities - such changes to be in conformity with provisions of <br />Ordinance 8809 relating to contract alterations." <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that the report be adopted. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that proper city officers be directe <br />to award contract to Harry I. Hamilton Company. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following report was submitted by the Board of Appeals: <br />"At a meeting of the Board of Appeals held in the office of th~ City Engi- <br />2 neeI' this afternoon (April 11th), the request of C. A. Carlson for a 15 apart- <br />ment building at 361 Fourteenth Avenue East was reconsidered. The Board recom- <br />mends that the request be .denied. <br />The request of Mrs. Hattie Bowers to convert the second floor of her resi- <br />dence at 1599 Moss Street into an apartment is recommended. <br />The request of R. A. Bowers for a set-bac~ of 20 feet at the southeast cor <br />ner of 21st and Onyx Streets be denied but that he be allowed a set-back of 25 F . <br />A request was received from Elmo B. Chase asking to be allowed to use the <br />basement of the Broadway Building at the northeast corner of Broadway and Oak <br />Streets for- commercial storage. The B08rd recommends that the request be denied. <br />A request was received from L. Jorgensen asking for a waiver of set-back <br />on a small-lot at the southeast corner of 12th and .A1ams Street. The I3oe.rc reco- <br />mmends that this request be denied." <br /> <br />Motion by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the Inatter of recommendation relative to <br />use of Broadway Building basement for storage be referred to the City Manager <br />and Street Committee for further consideration. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Hawn, seconded by Johnson that the recommendation relative to 15 <br />apartment building at 361 Fourteenth Avenue East be held up and a letter <br />addressed to Planning Commission relative to expansion of multiple-family <br />zone in this area.
