<br />A request was received from Mrs. Amand.a M. Acott to, 'be allowed to con-
<br />vert her home at the Southwest corner of 24th and Portland Streets into an ad-
<br />ditional apartment to house her daughter and 'son-in-law, a returned veteran. This
<br />would entail the remodeling of the upstair portion of the building only. The
<br />BOard .reconunends that' the request be granted.'

<br />house, containing six apartments on a lot at '16th and Ferry Streets. The Board

<br />to extend over the sidewalk at her Beauty Shop at 361 East 11th St. This busi-
<br />ness iS'being conducted at this location by special permit. The Board recommends
<br />that this request be denied.

<br />A request was received from the Better Homes, Inc. for a waiver of set-
<br />back for a house at 21st and Hilyard. This is a case where a, permit was issued
<br />last year with a specified set-back. The project was abandoned temporarily and
<br />then re-'issued this spring, but with difficult .plans and before conSUlting with
<br />this off'ice. They 'now desire to cons truct a 'garage at'.tached on the front of this
<br />house wh'ich would extend much closer to the s'treet than the rest of the houses in
<br />the proJect. The Board recommends that the r'equest be deni.ed. ",
