It was further moved and seconded that the McKeown application be tabled until the next regular session of the Common Council and that Mr. McKeown submit fur- l ther evidence in support of his application to the office of the City Manager prior to the Council meeting. . A permanent report from the City Planning Commission re: reclassi- fication of properties at 13th and Columbia Streets, the North half of Block 8, 181 Chambers Addition and the area bounded by 14th and 16th Avenues West, the alley J between Olive and Charnel ton and the alley between Lincoln and Lawrence, was I submitted and read. "Your City Planning Commission respectfully recommends: ( 1) That the Common Council again consider and adopt the recommen- dation of the City Planning Commission heretofore made for the reclassification of the areas at 13th Avenue East and Columbia Streets from B-2 business property to R-l single family residence distri,ct. (2) That the Common Council again consider and adopt the recommen- I dation of the City Planning Commission heretofore made for the allowance of the I petition of R. R. Fenn for the reclassification of the North One-half of Block 8, I Chambers Addition. I I ( 3) That the -Common Council ini tia te proceedings for the reclassifi- , I cation and rezoning of the area between 14th Avenue West and 16th Avenue West I I and the alley between Olive and Charnelton Streets on the East and the alley I ! between Lincoln and Lawrence Streets on the West from single family residence I to multiple family residence (R-3). I Your Commission respectfully submits in connection with their first recoIDfllendation that since the institution of this request permanent improvements upon a part of the property involved have been made, and that your Commission is I informed and believes that additional permanent improvements are now being con- templated and will be made unless the status quo is maintained. The spirit behind this recommendation is to maintain the present situation untii the Common Council has had opportunity to determine the ultimate Frankling Boulevard freeway project. I Your Commission is informed and believes that unless this rezoning is had additional cost to the City will ultimately result. In connection with the second recommendation the Commission is informed and believes that ultimate use of the property involved by the State Highway Com- mission for Highway intersection purposes is so remote that it is impractical to consider the same. ~
