The meeting was called to order by his Honor, Mayor Earl McNutt. <br />Councilmen present at rollcall were - Hawn, Davis, Crumbaker, Bailey, Johnson, <br />Allen, Pennington and Wells. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Upon motion the minutes of the last regular meeting held April 14, <br />1947 were considered read and approved. <br /> <br />Monthly estimates and approval for progress payments were submitted by <br />the City Engineer as follows: <br /> <br />First and Final Payment - Alleys between 10th and 11th, Olive and <br />Charnel ton. <br /> <br />$4033.49 <br /> <br />First and Final Payment - 25th Avenue from Alder to Kincaid <br />(sidewalks) <br /> <br />338.10 <br /> <br />First payment - Franklin Blvd. Interceptor Sewer <br /> <br />First payment <br />First payment <br /> <br />Riverwood Addition Sewers <br /> <br />3689.42 <br />4200.00_ <br />6282.55 <br /> <br />Playground --19th to 21st, Lawrence to Washington <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Davis that the estimates as approved be <br />received and placed on file and that the proper city officers be authorized to <br />make p~ment in accordance with the approved estimates. Motion carried. <br />Rollcall - All Councilmen present voting AYE. <br /> <br />, . <br /> <br />REPORTS OF COr~TTEES <br /> <br />A report of the Health Committee was submitted and read as follows: <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />"Your Comrni ttee on Health to whom was referred t11e ma tter of the pro- <br />posed plumbing code ordinance (Council Bill #187) begs to report as follows: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />That your Committee has studied provisions of the proposed ordinance <br />and recommends the following amendments: <br /> <br />Article I, Section 18, Line 5 - insert after the words "Permit applied <br />for." the following: "Upon request he shall supply in writing full information <br />concerning the minimum requirements of this ordinance and amendments thereto." I <br />Lines 9 and 10 of Section 18 should read - "He shall issue a Certificate: <br />of Approval when any work has been done in conformity with the provisions of this <br />ordinance and amendments thereto. Such certificate shall be authorization for the <br />covering, concealing or use thereof, as the case may be." <br /> <br />Article III, Section-24, Line 8 - delete the words "soil stack" <br /> <br />Article XI, Section 11, the words "No soil, waste or vent pipe extension <br />of any new or existing building shall be run or placed on the outside of a w~ll, <br />but shall be carried up in the inside of the roof." should be deleted. <br /> <br />Article XII, Section 5, Line 6; delete the words "for distances not <br />greater than 6 feet".
