CRUMBAKER, CHAIRMAN; COUNCILMEN WELLS AND GODLOVE, CITY MANAGER AND CITY <br /> ENGINEER. <br /> IT WAS RECOMMENDED B Y THE COMMITTEE THAT THE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR PAVEMENT ON V AN <br /> NESS FROM 25TH TO REED BE POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YE A R, BUT THAT THE SEWER PROJECT FOR THI S <br /> AREA GO AHEAD THIS FALL SO THAT A LARGE FILL INVOLVED MAY HAVE AMPLE TIME TO SETTLE DURING <br /> THE WINTER SEASON. <br /> IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMITTEE THAT SHORT STREET BE VACATED FROM MISSION STREET TO <br /> SPRING BLVD., BUT IN SO DO I N G, STIPULATED THAT EASEMENTS BE RETAINED FOR THE INSTALLATION <br /> AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL PUBLIC AND PR I VATE UTILITIES. <br /> IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT LOTS 8 AND 9, BLOCK 13, EDBLOOM ADDITION (OWNED BY F. A. <br /> TOWNSEND, 1950 MONROE) BE DIVIDED INTO THREE LOTS AS FOLLOWS: 50'x120' ON ALLEY F"ACING 19TH; <br /> 60'x1OO' F"ACING FRIENDLY; AND 60'xI00' FACING FRIENDLY, AL L THREE LOTS THEREBY CONTAINING <br /> 6000 SQUARE FEET AND AFFORDING SUFFICIENT SET-BACK LINE TO COMPLY WITH ZONING REQUIREMENTS. <br /> THE IMPROVEMENT OF" POTTER STREET FROM 25TH TO 26TH WITH ASP HAL TIC CEMEN TWAS RECOMMENDED <br /> TO BE LET TO THE LOW BIDDEI~ ( THE CENTRAL HEATING CO.. ) FOR 87,472.84. THE PETITIONERS FOR <br /> THIS PROJECT CONSTITUTED 49.67%, AND THE COMMITTEE, IN RECOMMENDING THAT THIS IMPROVEMENT GO <br /> -AHEAD, TOOl< INTO CONSIDERATION THE FACT THAT POTTER STREET WAS NOW BEING IMPROVED F"ROM 24TH <br /> TO 25TH AND F"ROM 26TH TO 27TH AND THEY FURTHER RECOMMENDED THAT NEXT SPRING THE IMPROVEMENT OF <br /> POTTER STREET INCLUDING PAVEMENT FROM 27TH TO 29TH AND 23RD TO 24TH, THEREBV OPENING UP POTTER <br /> I CLEAR ACROSS THAT SECT I ON OF THE CITY. <br /> IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT ON JEfFERSON AND MADISON STREET <br /> BETWEEN 15TH AND 19TH BE HELD uP UNTIL FUR THE R INVESTIGATION IS MADE AND A THOROUGH CLEANING <br /> OF THE SEWERS IS DONE TO ASSURE THAT THERE ARE NO TREE ROOTS OR ANY OBSTACLES IMPEDING THE <br /> FLOW AT PRESENT BErORE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION AND ENLARGEMENT or THE PRESENT SEWER. <br /> THIS PROBABLV WOULD ENTAIL A 50% ASSESSMENT TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS AND THE OTHER 50% WOULD <br /> BE PAID BY THE C I T V OF EUGENE I r AND WHEN IT IS DETERMINED THAT THIS ENLARGEMENT IS ABSOLUTELY <br /> NECESSARY. <br /> IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMITTEE THAT THE PARKING BE RESTORED TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF <br /> EAST II TH AVENUE AS IT WAS BROUGHT OUT THAT THIS TRArFIC WAS REMOVED ONL Y AS A TEMPORARY <br /> MEASURE DURING THE CONSTR~CTION OF THE H I G HW A V .
