PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATION ON WIDTH OF PAVING. 11TH AVENUE FROM CHAMBERS TO GARFIELD <br />A MEMORANDUM FROM THE DIRECTOR Of PUBLIC WORKS CONCERNING THIS SUBJECT WAS PRESENTED TO <br />THE COMMITTEE IN WHICH IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THIS STREET ,BE PAVED TO A WIDTH OF 42'. <br />THE LETTER FURTHER STATED THAT WHILE THIS SECTION OF ROADWAY WAS CLASSIFIED AS A ,STATE <br />SECONDARY HIGHWAY IT WAS PROP-OSED THAT PAVING BE TO A WIDTH OF 48', BUT SINCE THIS CLASSI- <br />F.ICATION DOES NOT NOW EXIST AND BECAUSE IT IS SERVING.AS A ONE-WAY STREET, PAVtNG BEYOND <br />A WIDTH OF 42' WOULD BE UNWARRANTED. EITHER A 2-LANE OR A-LANE TRAFFIC <br />WAY. Two LANES CAN BE ADEQUATELY ACCOMMODATED ON 42 FEET. FOUR LANES CAN <br />BE ACCOMMODATED ON 48 FEET IF PARKING IS REMOV~D,-BUT If PARKING IS RE- <br />TAINED THE PAVEMENT WIDTH SHOULD BE NOT LESS THAN 60 FEET AND PREfERABLY <br />64 FEET." <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY MR.
