<br />turn for removal of the exclusive services feature of Green's contract and recommended

<br />agreement with R. D. Green. Motion carried.,

<br />1 2. Basement SprinklercOrdinance Revisions - A draft of the proposed amendment \
<br />to Section F of the Basement Sprinkler ordinanc,e was submitted' to the Council I
<br />for its consideration. Th'e a,mendment would permit, the owner, agent" or other I _"
<br />person having control of certain premises where the Fire Marshal of the City ..,
<br />of Eugene had directed a sprinkle'ring system to be installed to appeal to 1-
<br />the Board of Appeals of the City of' Eugene within certain time limits, and
<br />would further allow the property owner to make a final appeal to the City I
<br />Council if he should feel the decision of the Board of Appeals was nqt to
<br />his liking. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. ,Deverell to approve-tne pre-
<br />sentation of the proposed ordinance' at tfie regular Council meeting: Motion

<br />2 3. Planning Commission Report - August' 26 1963
<br />a. Variance 3190 Willamette, Hawthorne - The Planning Commission recom-
<br />mended approval of a request for a variance at 3190 .willam'rtte Street
<br />for the construction of an additional living unit in the downstairs
<br />of a residence (previou's request: for rezoning denied and Council re-
<br />ferred back for consideration of' a'variance). Mr. Swanson moved secorided
<br />by Mr. Hawk to ,approve the variance. Motion carried.

<br />3 b. Widening, High,- 6th to 11th - The Planning Commission 'recommended the
<br />street widening of ,High' Street between 6th a'nd 11th Avenues to a'n ulti-
<br />mate width of 44 feet as reque'sted by the Publ'ic Works Department.
<br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to approve the street widening.

<br />the women's and trust'ies' quarters,- (2) recommend'ed mattress covers be used,

<br />Police Chief explaine,d that the City is now studying the possibility of more

<br />State Highway and the City Traffic Engineer. Motion carried. I
