Motion carried. <br /> 1 Condemnation. Kokkeler Property. Airport - The City Manager reported the Court had awarded $21,500 <br /> plus court costs and attorney fees to C. W. Kokkeler in the condemnation suit filed against him by <br /> the City for acquisition of airport property. <br />e Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. C~akes to authorize payment to the Kokkelers. Rollcall vote. All <br /> councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> 2 Safety Award - The City Manager reported that the City had been presented an award from the <br /> National Safety Council for its safety record. Eugene now enjoys a 50% reduction in premium costs <br /> due to better accident experience. Ben Massengill of the health department was commended for his <br /> diligence in promoting the City's safety program. <br /> 3 New City Hall - The City Manager called attention to an article concerning Eugene's new city hall <br /> appearing in the current issue of Nation's Cities on page 19. <br /> 4 West Coast Petition. CAB - The City Manager reported that the Civil Aeronautics Board had approved <br /> the petition for discretionary review of the hearing on West Coast Airlines' petition to delete <br /> United service at Medford, Eugene, and Salem. If the City wishes to continue, a brief must be filed <br /> with the CAB by December 6, 1965. <br />I Mr. Crakes moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to employ Harry Bowe~,attorney, of Washington, D. C. , to file <br /> the brief and give oral arguments before the Board.
