<br />1 I Councilwoman Hayward asked if anything had developed with regard to the drainage ditch I!
<br />I on ..Roosevelt Jr. High, ~roperty., The City Manager' said the City ,is' awaiting a report
<br />I from the County Health Department on results of sampling ,of water in the ditch. ,

<br />3111 Management Agreement, Airport Parking Company '- Th,e City Manager explained amendments 'I'
<br />I to the ,agreement, copies of which were previously distributed to Council members, ,
<br />,I covering operation of the parking space ~or auto,mopiles at Mahlon' Sweet Field. The .
<br />Ii amendments covered operation of additional parking space if and when it i's needed, ,;
<br />I: changing the ,$8,000.00 Parking, 'C!ompany investment to approxima,tely $9,000.00, and...
<br />11 added parking rates of 109 per 20-minute period with a maximum of one hour to accommodate I ~
<br />II short-term parking. -

<br />Ii Councilman Purdy asked if maintenance of the parking facility "at City's expense" as
<br />:~ covered under Paragraph 2, page 2" of the agreement ,would be paid from gross or net I
<br />'Ii receipts. The City Attorney explained that the agreement guar'antees the City $10,000 II
<br />Ii annually and that maintenance costs ,would come from gross receipts. Councilman Andersqn II
<br />I suggested the wording be changed to ".. .at City's expense from the gross, receipts ,from c' II
<br />I the operation of the parking fad. Ii ty." "

<br />I Councilwoman Lauris asked that the Parking Company be informed of the City's policy 1
<br />Ii of trying to hire from minority groups (Paragraph 2(b)), and that the City, under !I
<br />II Paragraph 2(c), request appropriate landscaping. The City Manager said landscaping .
<br />i would be part of the City's investment unless the contract stipulates otherwise. ~

<br />!l Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve the agreement with Airport Parking Company,
<br />I~ changing the language in Paragraph 2 as suggested to call for payment of maintenance costs from gross
<br />Ii receipts.

<br />il Councilman Anderson' asked at what point it would be determined expansion is needed. I
<br />11 The City Manager explained that the agreement provides terms of expansion will be nego- i
<br />II tiated between the City and the Parking Company, and will be mutually initiated. ,

<br />\1 Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mrs. Hayward to amend the contract to include landscaping. 1.-

<br />I Professor Nestvold asked when the contract would be effective. The City Manager re- :
<br />II plied that the agreement itself would be effective upon a favorable vote of the Council I
<br />and signing by City officials, and that paid parking would commence as soon as the im- I!

<br />A vote was taken on the amendment to include landscaping, and motion carried. !.
<br />
<br />II A rollcall vote was taken on the original motion as amended, and motion as amended carried, all I AI
