II <br /> ., <br /> explained that they are requesting two things !, <br /> Mr. Hal Covey, business manager of LHR, Ii <br /> " <br /> of the City in connection with a laundromat for low-income people. Mr. Ray Eaglin 'I <br /> explained that they are not asking for funding, but for land sites, which the City II <br /> would retain in ownership. In answer to Councilwoman Hayward, he said they did not I! <br /> i' <br /> have a particular site in mind. If the City could not comply with this request, il <br /> they asked the Council to simply endorse the plan. In answer to Mrs. Beal, Mr. Eaglin I, <br /> ;1 II ' <br /> " said they would set up schedules to transport pwople to the laundry' facility. Counci I- ii <br /> :1 man Purdy a'sked how they would determine eligible persons, to which Mr. Eaglin replied I' <br /> that they had files on many persons, which could be supplemented by welfare lists. Ii <br /> In answer to Mayor Anderson, Mr. Eaglin said materials would be solicited from County, I <br /> State, and local authorities. Constru~tion would be sought-on a volunteer basis If <br /> (in-kind grants, college and university ai?, high schools, VISTA, community action, <br /> labor unions, churches) .
