The public strip along the river bank, if properly developed <br /> and screened, would provide a connection between larger parks along the <br /> waterway. <br /> I In answer to Mrs. Beal, City Manager said it was his understanding the City <br /> and County Commissioners have agreed that the development plan must be approved <br /> and accepted by both bodies before the zoning will be completed. <br /> Mr. Van Fossen read the motion of the County which said in part, "It is <br /> recommended that city approval be observed by the Lane County authorities." <br /> There was discussion about the requir.ements of the PUD and the ordinance <br /> for rezoning. <br /> Mr. Van Fossen said they were willing to sign the document, but had not <br /> received a request for dedication as yet from the State. <br /> Mr. Teague moved seconded by Mr. Mohr that the recommendation of the Planning Commission regarding <br /> this zone change be approved. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO. 9529 - Rezone property located west of Country Club Road and south of <br /> 1-105 to C-2 PD Community Commercial Planned Unit Development was submitted, and no councilman <br /> requesting that it be read in full, was read the first time by council bill number only, with <br /> a recommendation that it be held for final approval of PUD (George Zellner) <br /> .".~ " .~ <br /> ~:~ .)-:~~~ Mr. Teague moved seconded by Mr. Mohr that the bill be read the second time by council bill <br /> number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Recommended denial of zone change requests <br /> a. South of 29th aetween Olive and Charnelton; RA to RG (Henry and Anderson) <br /> Mr. Sid Landskromer, representing the ap~licants, read Planning Commission <br /> e comments and gave reasons why he felt the rezoning should be accomplished. <br /> He felt the best use of the land would be multiple family use. <br /> Michael J. Neal, 2965 Charnelton, said he had appeared before the Planning <br /> Commission and presented a petition signed by persons living in the neighbor- <br /> hood who were opposed to the zone change. He explained that traffic conges- <br /> tion in that area is bad, and that rezoning this parcel would only increase <br /> the traffic problems. <br /> Bill Baxter, 1650 Lorraine Highway, agredd that rezoning would compound the <br /> traffic problems. <br /> Planning Director explained that this proposed rezoning would be in conflict <br /> with the interim plan for the area, and that services in the area had been <br /> planned for low density development. <br /> I Mr. Teague moved seconded by Mr. Mohr that the Planning Commission recommendation to deny this <br /> requested zone change be approved. Motion carried. <br /> b.
