RESOLUTION NO. 4934 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD <br />FIVE YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR HOUSING AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR SUBMISSION TO THE <br />FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br />DEVELOPMENT (HUD). <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br /> <br /> The Cities of Eugene and Springfield have formed a consortium in order to be <br />eligible as an entitlement community to receive HOME Investment Partnership funds. <br />Preparation of a Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development is a federal <br />requirement in order for local entitlement jurisdictions to receive housing and community <br />development block grant funding. <br /> <br /> B. The Cities of Eugene and Springfield have jointly prepared a Consolidated Plan <br />fbr Housing and Community Development in order to meet that federal requirement, a copy of <br />which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br /> C. Public hearings were held to receive testimony on the draft Consolidated Plan by <br />representatives of the Springfield City Council, Eugene and Springfield CDBG committees, and <br />the Intergovernmental Housing Policy Board in April and May, 2005~ <br /> <br /> D. The City Council has reviewed and considered the Consolidated Plan attached <br />hereto on May 9, 2005. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, a <br />Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1o Based on the above findings,-which are adopted herein, and the hearings held <br />thereon, the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development attached as Exhibit A <br />hereto, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2.
