Anderson at <br />7:30 p.m. on March 25, 1974 in the Council Chamber with the following council'members present: <br />Mr. Williams, Mr. Hershner, Mr. McDonald, Mrs. Beal, Mrs. Campbell, Mr. Murr.a:y,and Mr. Wood. <br />Councilman Keller was absent. <br /> <br />I - Presentation of Plaques, Boards and Commissions <br />Mayor Anderson presented plaques to the following in recognition of their service to <br />the people of Eugene: <br /> <br />Budget Committee - Bryan Hodges (January 1, 1971 to December 31, 1973) <br /> <br />Library Board - Winfield .Atkinson (September 19, 1957 to October 8, 1973) <br /> <br />Planning Commission - Betty Niven (December 38, 1959 to December 31, 1973) <br /> <br />Mechanical Board - Kenneth Wollenweber (May 27, 1968 to December 31, 1973) <br /> <br />Sign Code Board of Appeals - Pierre Van Rysselberghe (January 13, 1969 to <br />January 31, 1974) <br /> <br />Others recognized ,but not ,present to receive plaques were: <br /> <br />Budget Committee - Bruce McCracken (January 1, 1971 to December 31, 1973) <br />Human Rights Commission - Roy Poole (September 13, 1971 to December 31, 1973) <br />Jose Romero (January 1, 1972 to October 31, 1973) <br />Library Board - Muriel Keever (April 27, 1964 to December 31, 1973) <br />Sign Code Board of Appeals - Donald C. Vacation of easement at southeast corner of Gilham Road and Salley Way (City EV 74-1) <br />Recommended by the Planning Commission January 14, 1974. Easement through Jeppeson <br />property no longer needed since utilities were already located in other areas. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />0187 <br /> <br />.-= <br /> <br />Public hearing was held with no testimony presented. <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 470 - Vacating easement at southeast corner of Gilham Road <br />and Salley Way was read by council bill number and title <br />only, there being no councilman present requesting that it be read in full. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams moved seconded by Mr. Hershner that the bill be read the second time by <br />council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council, .and that enactment <br />be considered at this time. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the <br />second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams moved, seconded by Mr. Hershner that the bill be approved and given final <br />passage. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared <br />passed and numbered 16998. <br /> <br />B. Bids - I.parks Department (Opened March 21, 1974) <br />For Shasta ballfield backfield fences, concrete aprons, and players' benches. <br /> <br />Wildish Construction Company <br />Concrete Unlimited, Inc. <br />Devereaux and Pratt <br /> <br />$ 20,791. 77 <br />22,233.15 <br />23,261.20 <br /> <br />$ 21,752.14 <br /> <br />Estimate <br /> <br />Staff recommended award to low bidder. <br /> <br />Public hearing was held with no testimony presented. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams moved seconded by Mr. Hershner to award contract to the low <br />bidder, Wildish Construction Company, on bid price of $20,791.77.
