The retail
operation has since muved uut and the cafe operation has expanded into that space.
At the time of original occupancy a variance was also granted permitting smoke de-
tection system rather than sprinklering system for fire protection. The business
operation has been good, well respected, and very popular from the standpoint of
food service. However, the expansion into the retaJ[] area for restaurant purposes
is at variance with the certificate of occupancy and staff feels the problem of fire
;protection and additional code requirements should be resolved if the operation is
'to continue on its expanded basis.
