Roll call vote; the motion carried <br /> unanimously, 6:0. <br /> Council Bill 2904 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Wooten, that the bill be <br /> approved and given final passage. Roll call vote; all <br /> councilors present voting aye, the bill was declared passed <br /> (and became Ordinance No. 19407). <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING--VACATION OF THE NORTH PORTION OF EDISON STREET <br /> (City of Eugene: Parks and Recreation Department (SV 86-2) <br /> City Manager Michea1 Gleason introduced consideration of the proposed <br /> e vacation. Bill French of the Planning Department gave the staff report. He <br /> said right-of-way to be vacated is 60 feet wide and about 560 feet long. It is <br /> in the Bethel Triangle. The land will be incorporated into Trainsong Park. <br /> The only public comment received concerning the vacation expressed opposition <br /> to the design of Trainsong Park. It did not directly concern the vacation. <br /> Replying to a question from Ms. Wooten, John Etter of the Parks and Recreation <br /> Department said the improvements to Trainsong Park will begin in the morning <br /> and will continue for three or four weeks. The neighbors have been informed <br /> of the progress. <br /> Answering a question from Ms. Bascom, Mr. Etter sa i d the land parcels <br /> designated "City of Eugene" on the map in the staff notes are part of <br /> Trainsong Park. He pointed out the staff recommended approval of the vacation <br /> subject to the retention of a public utility easement over the entire area to <br /> serve the properties to the north.
