<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Council Chamber--City Hall <br /> <br />June 10, 1987 <br />Noon <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Debra Ehrman, Freeman Holmer, Emily Schue, Cynthia <br />Wooten, Ruth Bascom, Roger Rutan, Jeff Miller, Rob <br />Bennett. <br /> <br />The adjourned meeting of June 8, 1987, of the City Council of the City <br />of Eugene was called to order by His Honor Mayor Brian B. Obie. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM THE MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, AND CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />A. River Trip with Bank Representatives <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett said he recently took an enjoyable river trip with two <br />representatives of the Citizens Bank Building who came here from California. <br />He said the company is improving the Citizens Bank Building and the <br />representatives are working hard at marketing and leasing the building. He <br />said he hopes the representatives become active in the downtown management <br />community. <br /> <br />B. Northwest Solvents and Supply, Inc., Request <br /> <br />Ms. Bascom said she would like a follow-up report to the staff report about a <br />concern received some time ago from Northwest Solvents and Supply, Inc. The <br />concern involved the Chambers Connector. She said she would like additional <br />information on the "maximum permitted by law." <br /> <br />C. Public Hearing for Urban Renewal Plan Update <br /> <br />Ms. Bascom said several people have asked her to have the public hearing for <br />the Urban Renewal Plan Update on July 13, 1987, begin before 7:30 p.m. She <br />said some elderly people do not like to attend meetings late in the evening. <br />She suggested the meeting begin at 6 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Schue said it is appropriate to begin meetings at 6 p.m. in the winter when <br />it gets dark early. <br /> <br />Mayor Obie suggested Ms. Bascom discuss an appropriate time with the staff. <br /> <br />D. Lane Regional Arts Council <br /> <br />Ms. Bascom said she will represent the council at an event of the Lane <br />Regional Arts Council to recognize the contributions of John Alvord. <br /> <br />MINUTES--Eugene City Council <br /> <br />June 10, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
