He said the street <br />vacation will allow the parking garage to be built in a cost-effective <br />manner and will resolve parking problems that now exist. He pointed out <br />that the description of the Patterson and Hilyard street improvements in <br />the February 29, 1988, CIP contains a reference to a contra flow lane <br />that is outdated, <br /> <br />Mayor Obie closed the public hearing, <br /> <br />Ms. Bascom thanked Sacred Heart Hospital for the improvements that have <br />been made to the parking project, However, she said she is concerned <br />that in the past the hospital has not done enough to promote bicycle use <br />among its employees by providing adequate bicycle parking.
