Notification of Financing Arrangements for Sidewalk Repairs

Councilor Wooten said that she had been contacted by citizens in her ward who
had received notice of the need to repair sidewalks adjacent to their property
and who felt that they could not pay for the work within the time frame outlined
in the notice. She said that she had talked with Bill Guenzler, Public Works
Maintenance Engineer, and that he had informed her of a program which would
allow people having such work done by the City to repay the costs over a twelve
month period with no interest charged. Ms. Wooten felt that when the original
notices are mailed they should contain information on this payment alternative.
City Manager Michael Gleason said that staff would look into the matter and
report back to the council.

B. National Historic Preservation Week Tour of Homes

Ms. Wooten offered her personal congratulations to the Historic Review Board for
the success of its May 9 walking tour.
